With the nail-biting wait of Election Day – or, more aptly, Election Week – behind us, many of our students have thoughts to share on what the results mean for the country and where we should go from here. Moving to a community focus, we have lots of wonderful interviews to share with you this week. Student actors, a Resident Assistant, and a Relationship Peer Editor all shared their personal experiences as their respective organizations have navigated the remote semester. In light of the recently released Patriot League Women’s Basketball Schedule, Mike O’Brien ‘23, Chief Sports Editor, caught up with team member Avery LaBarbera ‘22 in “Weekly HC Athlete Spotlight – Avery LaBarbera ‘22, Women’s Basketball.”
The McFarland Center concluded its 1620/2020 Series this past Saturday by debuting “Pakachoag: Where the River Bends,” a film exploring the history of indigenous people native to College Hill. Looking ahead to next week, Derek DeBobes, Director of Title IX and Equal Opportunity, and Kara Hughes, Senior Investigator with the Office of Title IX and Equal Opportunity, will be holding a virtual meet-and-greet with students next Tuesday, November 17, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. ET. Hui Li ‘21, Co-Chief Graphic Designer, interviewed the pair in advance of the event. Read their conversation in “A Preview of The Office of Title IX and Equal Opportunity’s Virtual Meet-and-Greet.”
