Published weekly since 1925, The Spire is the official student newspaper of the College of the Holy Cross. Our mission is to serve the Holy Cross community not only as a local news source, but also as an outlet for student voices.
The Spire is a nonprofit and nonpartisan publication, and is run entirely by students. Submissions by students, alumni, and employees of the College alike are welcomed and encouraged. All submissions may be edited for content, and must be received by the Sunday prior to publication. Submissions may be published in print or online. The Spire reserves the right not to publish any letter or content deemed objectionable or which does not meet the editorial standards of the newspaper. Letters may be mailed, e-mailed, or brought to The Spire office in Hogan Campus Center Room 235. The opinions expressed within the newspaper are not necessarily those of the College of the Holy Cross.

ABOUT THE SECTIONS
The Opinions Section is a space for Holy Cross to express different thoughts, ideas, and opinions. Opinions shared in this section do not reflect the official positions of the Spire and the College, but instead those of individual writers.
The News section strives to provide its readers with unbiased and factual information pertaining to the Holy Cross community. All writers are volunteer contributors from the student body, dedicated to strengthening the knowledge of those around us. The News section additionally encourages creativity, allowing the writer to occasionally refer to themselves as “this author.” News prides themselves on delivering helpful information, devoid of fear mongering; articles are solution based. In an effort to maintain integrity as writers, the News section does not edit articles after publication.
The Eggplant is The Spire’s satirical section, offering very real and very good campus, national, and international news. Founded in 1842, the college was built around us. All writers are volunteer contributors from the student body, dedicated to strengthening the knowledge of those around us. Our writers all get their news from this guy Brad, and we’re not totally sure if all of our writers are from this so-called “student body.”
