Crusader of the Week: Kit Mullen ’21

Name: Katherine (Kit) Mullen

Class Year: 2021

Hometown: Burlington, CT

Major: International Studies

Campus Activities: Women’s Golf, SPUD, Student Outreach

Favorite Movie: Oceans 8 or Knives Out

Favorite song: I’m really hooked on MAX and Joey Bada$$ song “Still New York”

Favorite singer/group: Quinn XCII or Bazzi

Favorite color: Blue

Favorite sports team: The Red Sox, but I am hoping to get more into Boston sports when I move there! Golf-wise I like Bubba Watson because he is both a lefty and an erratic player and I am those as well.

Favorite class taken at Holy Cross: Economics of Inequality with Professor Kolleen Rask

Item on HC Bucket List: Sledding or getting invited to dinner with the Jesuits

Embarrassing HC Moment: Freshman year I absolutely wiped out on the stairs going down to Rehm Library and everyone saw. I am still mortified.

Bragging Rights: Nothing

Words to live by: Hard work pays off

One thing you would change at HC: Enrollment! I feel like I always go 2/4 even as a Senior

Favorite TV Show: Grey’s Anatomy or The Bachelorette (Go Tayshia!!!)

Favorite Book: The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald

Favorite Kimball meal: I always enjoy the big meals they only do once a year like the Thanksgiving Dinner or October Harvest, but consistently I enjoy the Pesto Pizza Flatbread or Chicken Parm.

Favorite Cool Beans Drink: Hot chocolate with extra whipped cream

Favorite spot on campus: My cube in Dinand! It’s where I always study. It’s close enough to the table my friends work at so I can go talk to them when I need a break, but far enough away that I don’t get distracted

Favorite off-campus restaurant: El Patron or The Fix

Guilty Pleasure: Anything sugary! I love any kind of candy and dessert.

Some small things that make your day better: Making dinner with my roommates — it is a great way to end the day and relax.

First thing you do when you wake up: Usually workout but that doesn’t always happen

Last thing you do before going to bed: Check my phone

Favorite place you have traveled to:  Budapest, Hungry or Lisbon, Portugal. I visited both while studying abroad in Dublin last spring.

Something you look forward to when you go home: Home cooked meals and hanging with my family

Post-Graduation Plans: I am working at J.P Morgan Chase for their Commercial Banking in Boston

Favorite memory at HC: Every year my parents and one of my best friend’s (who was also my freshman year roommate) parents host a tailgate and those have been some of my best days at HC.
