Champion of the Oppressed
The students at Holy Cross have a bone to pick with the administration. Platinum-selling rapper Flo Rida was late to the surprise concert the college threw for students two weeks into the semester, marking a backstab to the HC community that, frankly, can never be forgiven. Students are rightfully demanding a refund for their $30 ticket that others would’ve paid hundred for, claiming that having to stand outside on a cool evening with their friends for a few hours is a torture no being human being should endure. We had the opportunity to interview one student brave enough to speak out on this issue as he went about his day on campus. He chose to remain anonymous.
We managed to catch him in Kimball after his political science class taught by world-renowned professors in the top of their fields and right before he went off to workout in the campus gym. Here’s how the interview went:
Interviewer: “So we understand you have some issues with the college in light of recent events,”
Anonymous: “Boy do I,” he took a long sip of cherry vanilla Pepsi before speaking again. “Where do they get off charging ludicrous prices for a ticket for a guy who doesn’t even show up? A refund is like the moderate stance at this point.”
I: “What could the administration do to make this better in your eyes?”
A: “Well as a start they need to switch around the club budgeting, that’s an absolute fiasco. I heard Irish Step Dancing gets like $25,000 meanwhile us at Students For Life can’t get a cent.”
I: “So you’ve had this problem for quite some time?”
A: “Rhy Awaws Dohish,” he declared, chunks of apple pie cookie flying out of his mouth.
I: “What?”
A: “They always… *swallow* do this,” he reiterated, wiping the last bits of crumbs onto his shirt he got for free at Reptile Night. “I just feel like I never know where my $90k is going,” his phone rang. “Sorry it’s my dad. The boat broke again or something.”
