Now this is a story all about how

My life got flipped-turned upside down

And I’d like to take a minute

Just take a pause

I’ll tell you how I became the prince of a school called Holy Cross

In Worcester, Massachusetts born and raised

On the playground was where I spent most of my days

Chillin’ out, maxin’, relaxin’, all cool

And all shootin’ some b-ball in the streets of the Woo

One day my teacher said it was time for applications

Being a crusader was my only aspiration

I got all straight A’s, my transcript had no flaws

Ma said, “Get ready to work hard cause you’re going to Holy Cross”

I waited all summer day after day

Then I packed my suitcase and went on my way

Ma gave me a kiss and then she gave me my ticket

I put my Airpods in and said, “I can’t wait to kick it”

First class, yo this ain’t so bad

I’m taking Montserrat, Econ, and some math class

Is this what the people of Holy Cross living like?

Hmm, this might be alright

But wait, I hear they’re diligent, studious, and all that

Can this also be the type of place to send this cool cat?

I think so

If not it’s their loss

I hope they’re prepared for the prince of Holy Cross

Well, the car pulled up and when I came out

There was an RA with a clipboard and a line outside of Brooks

I’m just tryin’ to fit in, I just got here

I sprang with the quickness like lightning, went upstairs

I headed to my dorm and when it came near

The door sign said, “Fresh” and it had dice in the mirror

If anything I could say that this room was off

But I thought, “Nah, forget it, yo, holmes to Holy Cross”

I unloaded my stuff about seven or eight

And I yelled to my roommate, “Yo holmes, smell ya later”

I looked at my kingdom

Feeling like a boss

Ready to sit on my throne as prince of Holy Cross
