For 2026–2027, there has been a lot of excitement surrounding our football team, and it all started back in January with the arrival of 15 new transfers. This was the first time during my time here that Holy Cross had taken in so many transfers, so it was something very new for everyone. Over the last eight months, our team has grown extremely close through the harsh winter workouts, a month of spring ball, and long, hot summer workouts. All of these experiences have helped us build the chemistry and trust that we will need throughout the season.
The biggest thing that brought us together, not just as a team but also on a personal level, was our collaboration with a company called “The Program.” This group of retired military soldiers really pushed us to our limits. They had us participate in extensive collaboration and teamwork activities that challenged us mentally and physically. One of the toughest experiences was a grueling Day 2 pool workout. For people like me who can’t swim, it was an extremely difficult task, but through trusting and believing in each other, we were able to accomplish it together. That experience showed me how important it is to rely on your teammates and never give up when things get difficult.
Now, with the season finally here, we have our first away game against Miami (Ohio) at 1:00 p.m., and it should be a good one. For me, this will be my first time ever being in Ohio, so what better way to experience it than by getting a win there? After everything we have been through together over these past eight months, I’m excited to see how far this team can go and do this by being the best version of ourselves.
