Name: Marie Meisner
Class Year: 2026
Hometown: Holliston, MA
Major: English Major, Creative Writing Concentration, Education Minor
Campus Activities: Spring Break Immersion Program Co-Chair, SPUD Program Director, Ignite Retreat Leader, Liturgical Coordinator, Campus Tour Guide, The Purple Senior Editor
Favorite Movie: “Mamma Mia!”
Favorite Song: My listening habits are all over the place, but songs I will ALWAYS come back to are “Cornelia Street” (Taylor Swift), “Landslide” (Fleetwood Mac), “Dreams” (The Cranberries), and “Songbird” (also Fleetwood Mac (are we noticing a theme)).
Favorite color: Purple!
Favorite sports team: The Holy Cross Crusaders (duh!)
Favorite class taken at Holy Cross: Tie between Worlds of C.S. Lewis, Introduction to Screenwriting (both Fall ‘23), and Understanding Urban Schools (Fall ‘24)
Item on HC Bucket List: Drive the Zamboni at one of the ice hockey games (half-joking) and/or play one of the mini-games at a sporting event
Embarrassing HC Moment: Sophomore year, while working on my screenplay for the aforementioned Intro to Screenwriting Class, I was typing so aggressively (for context: I only type with two fingers) that my friends had to leave Rehm because they were laughing so hard. (The screenplay went well for all those curious.)
Bragging Rights: I’ve been to the exorcism room (and have signed my name on the wall). I have also won mini golf in Dinand by somehow (this is not the norm for me) getting a hole in one TWICE.
Words to live by: Be safe, be slay, be sensible, be swag, and stay close to Jesus!
One thing you would change at HC: An easier, flatter commute to class (especially in this treacherous winter weather)
Favorite TV Show: “The Mandalorian” or “Andor” (both in the Star Wars universe)
Favorite Book: “The Story of a Soul” (St. Thérèse of Lisieux). “Little Women” (Louisa May Alcott) is also such a good comfort book.
Favorite Kimball meal: Chicken parm is the correct answer, but Kimball breakfast as a whole is consistently epic.
Favorite Cool Beans Drink: Strawberry smoothie (I do not drink tea/coffee)
Favorite spot on campus: The chapel! Also the St. Thérèse of Lisieux statue outside of Memorial Plaza.
Favorite off-campus restaurant: BirchTree Bread Company – where I went after my Holy Cross tour! (+ RIP The Flying Rhino)
Guilty Pleasure: Reality TV (“Survivor,” “Dancing with the Stars,” “Big Brother,” etc.)
Some small things that make your day better: Seeing my friends around campus, a particularly stunning sunset or group of flowers!
First thing you do when you wake up: Turn off my alarm
Last thing you do before going to bed: Wish my roommate a good sleep!
Favorite place you have traveled to: Paris, France on the Paris Maymester!
Something you look forward to when you go home: Spending time with my mom and seeing my dog!
Post-Graduation Plans: (hopefully) Getting my masters’ in elementary education to become a classroom teacher!
Favorite memory at HC: The Fenway football game – it was absolute magic (I did cry). Also, Lessons and Carols every year (I do also cry then). My favorite Holy Cross tradition!!
