Holy Cross Students Who Pretend To Live in New York City Now Pretend To Know Mamdani’s Policies.

“Oh yea, I’m from New York City,” are words that all Holy Cross students have heard from a fellow classmate or friend before. These students then get hit with the basic soundbites that make it seem like their fellow classmate is actually from New York City. However, after just one simple question like “So do you take the subway a lot?” they then learn that these students actually live over 30 minutes away from the city.

These NYC wannabies are now scrambling after the most recent election of known Socialist Zohran Mamdani. It’s a fierce divide as many don’t want to be associated with his win but also want the “cred” of being from NYC.

Some bit the bullet and took the route of actually telling the truth about which suburb near New York City they live in. It’s a heartbreaking confession, obviously, since everyone knows that being from NYC is the single most important personality trait a person can have. Envy practically seeps through the non-New Yorkers’ skin. But some still refuse to let go of their “authentic” New York background. A background about as authentic as their neighbors Jerry and Kramer.

“Socialism is going to be great for the city, and I’m a social person so I think it’s great,” a local and definitely real student stated.

After Mamdani’s election, the purchases of books titled “Politics and Socialism for Dummies” skyrocketed. Will these students study Mamdani’s policies more than their own schoolwork? It’s definitely not out of the question.

“His rent policies are going to be great for some of my friends,” another Crusader stated. I just hope these “friends’” names aren’t Joey, Rachel, Ross, Monica, Chandler and Phoebe. Ultimately when it comes to having opinions on other policies it seems that students may be bending the truth just as much as Mamdani himself.
