November always marks a stressful period in the school year when seemingly faraway deadlines creep up out of nowhere, assignments get longer, and tests get harder. The middle of the semester is never carefree — especially when it coincides with an extremely tumultuous presidential election, a global pandemic, flu season, and Daylight Savings Time. Academically, politically, and socially, there are potentially a lot of stressors in your life right now. Luckily, the College of the Holy Cross has plenty of wellness resources for students — even in a remote environment.

The Counseling Center is still open and offers appointments through teleconferencing. Making an appointment at the counseling center is very easy and convenient. Simply call their number and schedule an appointment. The number can be found on the school website under the Campus Life section and the Health, Wellness, and Access subsection. Appointments at the counseling center are free for students, so there are no financial obstacles to this resource. The counseling center also offers urgent care hours from 10:00am to 3:00pm Monday through Friday, which can be utilized in case of emergencies.

The Counseling Center is also offering drop-in group sessions over Zoom for students affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Many individuals have been suffering from feelings of anxiety and depression due to the ongoing pandemic and its dangerous consequences. Furthermore, many people have been directly impacted by the pandemic in devastating ways. These meetings are a great opportunity to both listen to and be heard by other students who are struggling with similar issues. These sessions are held on Wednesdays in November at 10:00am and can be accessed through the Zoom link that was sent to your Holy Cross email earlier this week.

The Counseling Center is an incredibly helpful resource for students. No matter how busy or stressed you are, there is always time for you to get the help you need. Take advantage of these resources that are readily available to you and good luck with the rest of the semester! You can reach the Counseling Center at (508)-793-3363 and learn more about it at https://www.holycross.edu/health-wellness-and-access/counseling-center. Their Urgent Care phone number is 855-418-7282.
