The Student Government Association released results of the fall 2025 elections.

Firstly, seven new students were chosen as representatives of the class of 2029. Aine Carey, Ainsley Clough, and Matthew Dressel were elected as Senators for the Class of 2029. Others elected to represent the first-year class were Ally Bonoldi as Secretary, Conor Duffy as Treasurer, Nathan Rezk as Vice President, and Julia Grammig as President of the Class of 2029. For the junior class of 2027, Fiona Gawne was elected as Class President and C. J. O’Brien was elected as Class Senator. Cassidy Joslin and Jacob Ruderman were elected as Senators for the Class of 2026. Finally, two senators at large were elected, including AnneLindle Weigman ‘26 and Charlotte Donner ’29.

Each candidate was required to submit an application form, acquire signatures from community members at Holy Cross, and write and deliver an address as to why they want to be elected to their individual positions. The “Meet the Candidates” event impressively showcased how many students care deeply about representing their classmates and making a difference on campus. Each candidate introduced themselves, explained how they are involved on campus, and why they want to be a part of SGA. Many said they hope to prioritize inclusivity, foster community through planned social events, and bring their class together.

I asked two elected candidates why they are interested in joining SGA and what draws them to being a class representative. When asked about her motivation for joining SGA, AnneLindle Weigman ’26 shared, “I want to be a part of SGA so that I can be a voice for the Holy Cross community and make an impact on the student body in my last year on the Hill. Having been a member of the Gateways Orientation Central Staff for two years and a Relationship Peer Educator for three years, I am excited for the opportunity to continue making a difference on our campus!” Cassidy Joslin ‘26 expressed similar enthusiasm for deepening her campus involvement, saying “I wanted to be a part of SGA to get to know more people and involve myself in another way on campus for my senior year! After being an OL I really wanted to continue being a leader and to continue to make a difference on campus and get to know more people throughout my last year here. I’m looking forward to representing our class and am excited for the year ahead!”

The event made clear that there are so many students at Holy Cross who are passionate about maintaining the special community that we have here on the Hill.
