How much longer until it’s Friday? Friday, my favorite day of the week, hits differently. What is there not to love about the fifth and final weekday in the daily 7-day week? Fridays bring about an energy and vibe that is not like any other weekday. For those of you that know me, whenever it is Friday, I have been promoting what I like to call “Feel Good Friday”, where there is always a lot to relish and feel good about at the end of the work week. “Feel Good Friday” consists of looking good and feeling good with what you wear, and then I believe listening to some upbeat music that radiates a type of groove in you solidifies the joy you experience from the “Feel Good Friday” mentality. Plus, the great thing about Friday is that as some people say, it is the unofficial start of the weekend. After getting through so much anticipation for the arrival of freedom, once work is done for the day on Friday, nothing matches that immediate release of excitement. It is as if the gates opened up for good times to be celebrated with others throughout Friday, lingering into the rest of the weekend as well. Trust me, if we could live in an immaculate world, I would make every day Friday, there is no reason not to.
The other days of the week, well, they just don’t compare to Fridays. Let’s start with Monday. As much as people think the first weekday is the worst day of the week, I understand where they are coming from, but I disagree. Going into Monday, I find that you tend to have a little bit of a weekend hangover (in terms of carrying forth good vibes). These days are actually great for slowly easing back into a potentially long week ahead, allowing you to go in with a bang and start off strong in getting through the week. So ultimately, Mondays are not that bad. Now, Tuesdays are when the going gets tough. The realization that you’re not even halfway through the week is such a horrible feeling, am I right? These days are long, they move at a slow pace, and I’d say that they are the busiest since more people are in a work mindset. Just the thought of dreading the day to be Tuesday is when you know the week will seem to last forever. Given that there is not much to look forward to on the second weekday, Tuesdays are the worst day of the week.Wednesday is one of those days that could go either way. The midpoint of the week, known as hump day, contains so much indifference and indecisiveness on how to approach the day. On the one hand, you are one day closer to it being the weekend. But on the other hand, Wednesdays hold similar vibes to Tuesdays where you are also locked in on work for the week. I feel that there is a sense of hopelessness to just get through the third weekday, as if Wednesdays are like a blur in that it’s one of those unordinary and uneventful dog days that was just lived through on Tuesday. With everything considered, Wednesdays have the slightest edge on being a better day than Tuesday in my opinion (but an undesirable day nonetheless). Last, but not least, there is Thursday. The fourth day of the week could also go either way when it comes to assessing the mentality on this day. At times, I enjoy Thursdays because of the near anticipation for the weekend being around the corner. I see Thursdays as essentially motivation days to help me reach Friday, the day I can’t wait for. It is as if you could barely see the light at the end of the tunnel for the end of the week, despite having to overcome work on both Thursday and Friday. But, it is hard to remember that Thursday can be another intense work day like Tuesday and Wednesday, making it easy to know that Thursday is not part of the weekend. Thus, I would consider Thursday to have more positive aspects to it than negative ones. And there you have it, the weekday cycle continues to repeat following the weekend, and as usual, the eventual goal is to make it to the best day of the week, Friday.
