Hello, and welcome back to another year at the getting-ever-more-steep Mount Saint James! I hope you all had a wonderful summer filled with Zach Bryan and Noah Kahan concerts that I got to watch through my phone. I also hope you enjoyed all the summer internships I believe you’ve worked so hard to get and truly earned with dedication and a strong work ethic.
Here are some of my favorite LinkedIn posts Holy Cross students have shared that celebrate those internship experiences:
Carly Smith – “Last week marked the end of my two week summer internship as a Social Media Management Intern with a start-up that will probably go bankrupt within the year. I am sincerely appreciative of everyone who supported me during those grueling, rigorous fourteen days. Like and comment on this message for my 10% off discount!”
Dave Rogers – “A week ago marked the last day of my summer internship at McDonald International. I am sincerely grateful to everyone, both employees and supervisors alike, who played a role in shaping my experience as a line cook. Specifically, I want to thank my manager and mentor, Ronald McDonald, for guiding me throughout my ten week torture. Uh, sorry, I meant tenure. With their help and support, I was able to develop skills, design projects, and eventually get promoted to drive-through. I look forward to applying my newfound proficiency in my future endeavors!”
Franklin Mercer – “I am thrilled to share that I spent the summer interning at Manhattan Pediatrics, where I had the incredible opportunity to support their mission of bringing equity to healthcare. I gained invaluable experience working with my father, Mr. John Mercer, who offered me the position. Under his tutelage, I was able to shadow patient interactions and learn what it’s like to assist families in navigating health situations. I am so grateful for the chance to immerse myself fully for those seven weeks. Thanks for the opportunity, pops!”
It really is so great to see everyone back on the hill, and remember, it’s all in jest!
