On September 7, 2024, Ciampi Hall was officially renamed Ciampi-Condron Hall during a special ceremony honoring Kevin Condron. The event was attended by various members of the Holy Cross community, including members of the Board of Trustees, several college deans, President Rougeau, alumni Bob Cousy, and Kevin Condron along with his family.

Ciampi Hall has been home to the Wellbeing Living Learning Community, where students live in a residence that fosters personal wellbeing and balanced lifestyles. Grounded in the Jesuit mission of the College, this community encourages the holistic growth of the mind, body, and spirit to cultivate more well-rounded individuals. The renaming of the hall further amplifies this mission, highlighting the profound impact and dedication of Holy Cross students like Kevin Condron.

The newly placed plaque at the entrance of Ciampi-Condron Hall reads: “May this building, named for two generational leaders who have skillfully guided the College with gravitas and grace, stand as a testament to the vital partnership between the Jesuits and the laity in the pursuit of holistic excellence at Holy Cross, and for all those entrusted in its care.” This tribute not only honors Kevin Condron’s enduring legacy, but also highlights his deep commitment to the College and its lasting impacts on today’s students.

Current students recognize the significance of this renaming, expressing gratitude for the opportunities it provides. William ‘Beck’ Schutte ‘26, for instance, shared that “Living in Ciampi-Condron allows me to focus equally on my academics and my wellness. Because of this I feel able to show up in the classroom and also in my extracurriculars with more attention and focus.” This sentiment echoed President Vincent Rougeau’s remarks during the renaming ceremony, where he emphasized that honoring Kevin Condron is “more than a name change…it reflects the evolving needs of our students.” As the community embraces this new chapter, the legacy of leadership and well-being will continue to inspire Holy Cross students.

Antonio Willis-Berry, the Director of Residence Life and Housing shared a mutual excitement about this new change, stating that “It is an honor for the college to make the decision to dedicate a community meant to be a beacon of wellness on our campus after such an inspiring and great leader. As a former student and someone who has benefitted from the kindness of Mr. Condron, I thank him for his service, dedication, and commitment to the college.” Director Willis-Berry’s words reflect the deep appreciation that the entire Holy Cross community feels for Kevin Condron’s lasting legacy and the positive impact he continues to have on future generations.

Mr. Condron, along with Ciampi-Condron Residence Hall, exemplify a deep commitment to the mission of the College of the Holy Cross and the values that define its community. The renaming of the residence hall, as highlighted during the ceremony, symbolizes the College’s dedication to honoring its Jesuit heritage while embracing modernization and the ongoing evolution of campus and student experience.
