Students of the Class of ‘26 dressed up nicely for their sophomore ball in the Hogan Ballroom on February 23rd.
Tickets were available for purchase on MyHC for $15 and allowed them entry into a fun event with pizza, beverages, a DJ, and a number of casino games to play throughout the evening. The event was hosted by the Class of ‘26 and was a success with a large part of the class attending the ball. Students walking on the Hoval that night could look up and see the multicolor lights shining out from the ballroom as the sophomore class enjoyed the festivities inside. Suits and dresses could also be seen all around campus, as students excitedly got ready and walked over for the ball.
A casino night occurred during the fall orientation for the Class of ‘26 and was a great way for students to meet their classmates and socialize after moving in for their freshman year. It is likely that the Sophomore Ball brought back memories of orientation and offered an opportunity to reflect on their time at Holy Cross so far.
The event, which ran from 8-11 pm on Friday, was a great way to begin the weekend after what was a busy week for many students. As the semester goes on and students are busy with their coursework and extracurriculars, events like this are a great way to take a break and spend time with friends before Spring Break begins in March.
Students who attended the event remarked that they enjoyed spending time with their friends and also had the opportunity to talk to new classmates, hopefully sparking new friendships amongst the games and the music.
An email advertising the Ball indicated that a large turnout would allow the class council to host more events for the Class of ‘26 in the future. It seems that the Sophomore class was eager to attend the Ball and can expect more events like this throughout their time on the Hill.
