On December 1st HC Dance Marathon and PRIDE hosted a booth in Hogan spreading awareness regarding World AIDS Days and the Elizabeth Glasier Pediatric AIDS Foundation. Each year, Holy Cross Dance Marathon organizes an overnight event, during which students dance through the night and raise money for this important foundation. The Elizabeth Glasier Pediatric AIDS Foundation has been working diligently for over thirty years to combat the devastating effects of HIV infection and AIDS, through research surrounding prevention and treatment. The first Holy Cross Dance marathon occurred in 2012 and it has become increasingly popular ever since, dancers in 2020 raising over $20,000. On December 1st, representatives from HC Dance Marathon and PRIDE sold T-shirts for $10 each, 100% of the proceeds going to pediatric AIDS research and treatment. The booth also had important information for students to peruse, such as statistics regarding AIDS-related illnesses throughout the world. Spreading awareness for AIDS, and working towards prevention and treatment, is an important cause that Holy Cross students feel passionate about. The booth was a great opportunity to learn more about this important issue. For more information about the Elizabeth Glasier Pediatric AIDS Foundation, please visit their website: pedaids.org. And keep an eye out for updates regarding the HC Dance Marathon; you won’t want to miss it!
