Whether you are new to campus or a long time Crusader, the Lobby Shop is a spot on campus with huge popularity. Due to the ease of access and variety of snacks, dorm needs, and other goods, the Lobby Shop is a cornerstone of student life here on the Hill. Located right next to Cool Beans on the second floor of Hogan, the Lobby Shop is the pinnacle of convenience. To accommodate the sheer popularity, this semester marks the beginning of new extended hours for the Lobby Shop. Beginning last week on Feb. 8, the Lobby Shop’s hours became 9:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m. on Monday through Friday, and 10:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. 

Whitney Moore, campus’s resident Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications of College Dining Services, provided some insight on what led to the new hours. “Before the semester began, we knew we wanted the Lobby Shop to be opened more for extended hours. The only issue was, initially, we didn’t have staff to fill those shifts,” Whitney said regarding the pre-semester plans. Luckily, Margaret Rollo, Assistant Director of Employment “worked diligently to find staff to fill the later shifts. Her success enabled us to change hours and the operation to open longer,” Whitney added regarding the hiring success. 

Furthermore, Whitney Moore spoke to the student body’s input regarding the Lobby Shop in general. “In addition to that, we listened to the students. We heard what you all had to say.  We take all feedback into account and do our best to show that we want to provide our students with the best services we can, whether that means making changes to options or hours.”
